Why is my child identified as an English Learner (EL)?

When students are enrolled in school a Home Language survey is completed.  This will guide our assessment center to conduct an initial ELPAC and depending on the results, your child will be identified as Initial FEP or LEP.  

 

How can I learn more about the EL Supports at Walnut Elementary?

Join us for ELAC Meetings.  Dates are listed on the left.  Information from prior meetings are posted in the ELAC Meeting section of this page.
